I'm Brent Peterson. I've spent over two decades in e-commerce, earned 5x Magento Master recognition, spoken at Adobe Commerce and eTail conferences, and founded the Big Dam Run community tradition at Magento Imagine. I've also finished 31 marathons, which taught me that the best results come from consistent effort over time, not shortcuts.
This is the story of how a question about AI voice led to building RequestDesk.
Building PersonAloha
I had been using TypingMind since it started and noticed the dynamic persona injection feature when it was introduced. The concept was brilliant: AI that could adapt its voice based on context. I played with a couple of ideas and in January 2025, while working on client projects in Hawaii, I settled on building my own app. But as I tested it with real brand content, the limitations of existing tools became obvious.
Generic AI tools gave generic answers. They couldn't maintain consistent brand voice across a team of writers. They couldn't help us understand what competitors were doing better. They couldn't manage the chaos of content requests flowing in from multiple clients. And they definitely couldn't ensure every piece of content made our clients' brands stronger.
That's when PersonAloha was born.
When I landed in Hawaii in January 2025, my dog Finn was with me. He's been my constant companion through countless projects, late nights, and early morning runs.
Finn became the inspiration for the RequestDesk logo. He represents loyalty, companionship, and the idea that the best work happens when you have a trusted partner by your side. That's what we want RequestDesk to be for your brand: a loyal companion that knows your voice and never lets you down.
Content Basis, founded in 2023 as an AI-first content creation agency with humans always in the loop, taught me an expensive lesson: humans have no patience.
Clients expected AI-generated content to be perfect immediately. No trial and error. No learning curve. The same people who would give a new writer weeks to understand their brand voice expected AI to nail it on the first try or wrote it off completely.
Nobody wanted to invest the time to train AI properly. They just wanted it to work.
People started valuing human expertise again. Not because AI failed, but because humans failed to give it the patient guidance they'd give any new team member.
That's when I placed my bet on Content Cucumber. Human creative services that AI tools can't replicate.
Since our inception, we've been adding great partners like HubSpot, ButterCMS, Contentful, Adobe AEM, Shopify, BigCommerce, Shopware, and other enterprise platforms. We helped e-commerce brands and agencies scale their content operations, but the same problems kept surfacing:
We already knew how to combine AI and human expertise. We just needed a system that made training AI as systematic as training humans.

I first met Isaac Morey in 2017 at IRCE. He had just started Content Cucumber, and I was with Wagento. We became one of Content Cucumber's first clients. I watched Isaac build something I deeply respected over the years: a creative services company that refused to compromise on the human element.
In April 2025, we made it official. His expertise in fractional CMO strategy and growth marketing complemented what I was building at Content Basis.
